Care for a Street Tree

ATTEND A WORKSHOP

Attend a tree care workshop and become a care giver!

Before and After

Help water and care for the 150,000 new street trees that have been planted across New York City! Join the MillionTreesNYC Stewardship Corps and help keep New York City GREEN by coming to a free MillionTreesNYC stewardship workshop where you will learn how to identify trees in NYC, benefits trees bring to our city and tree care: Water! Weed! Mulch!

All participants will care for trees using small gardening tools and watering buckets. Please dress for light gardening work, wear close-toed shoes, and bring a refillable water bottle. Pledge to take care of a specific street tree and get a FREE watering kit and volunteer card. Please be able to tell us where your tree is located.

If you notice that any street tree in your community seems to be damaged, diseased, uprooted, or in very poor condition which cannot be amended by basic tree stewardship, please submit a request to have the tree inspected by NYC Parks Forestry staff either by calling the City's 3-1-1 hotline or by submitting a request via the Parks Forestry Request system.
