Million Trees NYC - A PlaNYC initiative with NYC Parks and New York Restoration Project
Plant : Community Tree Giveaways

MillionTreesNYC and the New York Restoration Project offer free trees and assistance to community groups, neighborhood organizations and businesses that host a community tree giveaway!

Host a Tree Giveaway

We are now accepting applications for Fall 2012 Community Tree Giveaways. The deadline for applicants is July 15, 2012.

NYRP grants community organizations, not-for-profit organizations and businesses between 100 and 300 trees to distribute to community members to plant on private property. Trees must be planted within the five boroughs and cannot be planted in containers, on rooftops or along the street.

Applications can be found here. Please read the planning guidelines below before filling out your application.

Pick up a Free Tree

New York City residents can attend a MillionTreesNYC Community Tree Giveaway and pick up their own free tree. Trees can be planted on private properties such as front and backyards, commercial properties, community gardens and faith-based centers. Trees must be planted in the ground, rather than in a planter or container. All MillionTreesNYC Community Tree Giveaway trees must be planted within the five boroughs of New York City.

This tree giveaway program is an excellent way to begin or continue greening your neighborhood!
You can also RESERVE a tree at one of our giveaway events.
