Eight cities—including New York City—are competing for the largest portion of the American Express one million dollar tree-planting grant.

Here’s what you can do. To cast a vote for MillionTreesNYC, simply pay with any American Express® Card when you see the ROOT FOR NEW YORK tree icon displayed at participating businesses from September 22 through October 31, 2008. The city with the most votes gets the most green—funding to plant new trees and expand our city’s urban forest.
