Green Points Challenge for NYC schools!

MillionTreesNYC, in partnership with Recyclebank and leading environmental educators, is proud to present the Green Points Challenge for NYC schools. The Green Points Challenge is an online recognition and rewards program to encourage NYC schools to learn about the benefits of trees and actively participate in the MillionTreesNYC (MTNYC) initiative.

Through the Green Points Challenge, NYC teachers and classrooms can earn Recyclebank Points by:

  • Participating in environmental education programs
  • Planting a tree
  • Adopting a tree
  • Taking a MTNYC quiz
  • Signing up for the MTNYC newsletter
  • Integrating free tree-themed curricula into lessons

Green Points Challenge Winners: Spring 2012 Semester

Presenting the winners of the Green Points Challenge for the Spring 2012 semester:

GRAND PRIZE: Christine W., P.S. 166, Queens. Swindler Cove Park campout.

FIRST PRIZE: Usha, K., PS 160, Queens. Afternoon of games with The Boost Mobile New York Knicks Groove Truck.

SECOND PRIZE: Veronica, K-J., Brooklyn Job Corps Academy, Brooklyn..Brand name backpacks for classroom.

THIRD PRIZE: Christina, A., Alain L. Locke Magnet School for Environmental Stewardship, Manhattan. Class trip to a Garden Exploration Tour at Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

Congratulations to the four winning classrooms! Thank you to all the contestants who participated in the Green Points Challenge in the Spring 2012 semester.
