About New York Restoration Project
In partnership with the Parks Department, the New York Restoration Project (NYRP) is leading Million Trees NYC. Founded by Bette Midler in 1995, NYRP is a non-profit organization dedicated to reclaiming and restoring under-resourced parks, community gardens, and open spaces in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods throughout NYC's five boroughs.
In partnership with national and community-based organizations, researchers, educators, policy-makers, government agencies, corporations, and individuals, New York Restoration Project and its 12,000 members work everyday to revitalize, support, and advocate for NYC's public parks, community gardens, green spaces, and urban forest.
